Akodo comes into the arena with Skip Marley - Lions blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samson Fortier!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Akodo.
Akodo listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Akodo clinches up against the cage.
Fortier swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fortier misses with the head strike.

Akodo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Akodo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fortier counters with a low kick, right behind Akodo 's knee.
Akodo falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Fortier to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Toturi Akodo has been cut.
Fortier keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fortier is trying to counter with his kicks.
Akodo misses with a two punch combination.
Akodo backing away here, and Fortier unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Akodo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fortier looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Akodo throws a front kick aimed at Fortier's knee but Fortier avoids it well.
A countering left hand to the body from Fortier misses.
Fortier uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Akodo.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Fortier! But no joy.

Akodo misses with the combination.
Fortier throws a big counter head kick but Akodo avoids it with no problem.
Akodo throws a hook to the side of Fortier's head but Fortier sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fortier is trying to counter with his kicks.
Akodo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fortier swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fortier displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Akodo throws out the jab.
Akodo feints a jab promting Fortier to slip. Akodo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Fortier slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Akodo misses with a leg kick
and Fortier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Akodo closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Fortier uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Akodo.
Akodo tests Fortier's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fortier moves away from the strike by Akodo.
Fortier feints a counter leg kick.
Akodo throws a lazy uppercut
and Fortier counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Akodo throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
It seemed like Fortier was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Fortier takes a swing at Akodo's ribcage but misses.
Akodo misses with a right hand
and Fortier counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Akodo thinking.
Akodo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fortier follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Akodo cracks Fortier with a good jab.

Fortier is rocked!
Akodo throws an uppercut from hell that sends Fortier clean off his feet! He's out cold! Akodo stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
