Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Denis Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akemi Akagi!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akagi misses with a head kick.
A good leg kick by Akagi.
Young blocks a head kick by Akagi.
Akagi dips to his left and cracks Young with an uppercut!
The fight stays on the outside here - Young looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Akagi lands a really nice looking cross but Young seems unphased.
Akagi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Young manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Young half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Akagi. Akagi obviously looking to wear him down.
Akagi scores with the left hand. Young knows he should have avoided that one.
Akagi misses with the body kick

and Young counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Young.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Akagi wants to stand but Young is controlling the position.
Young's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Young seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Akagi for as long as he can get away with.
Akagi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Young slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Akagi.
Akagi throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Akagi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Young tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Akagi manages to circle out of the way.
Akagi throws a nice outside leg kick.
Akagi lands a high kick!
Akagi throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Young counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Young.
Akagi is trying to break free.
Young keeps control of Akagi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Akagi is trying to push Young away but Young has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Young is looking to take this one to the mat.

Young jumps into guard, dragging Akagi to the mat.
Akagi stops Young from standing up.
Akagi cracks Young with a solid left hand.
Young utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Young pushes Akagi off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheers as Akagi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Young doesn't seem phased though.
Akagi connects with a body shot.
Akagi lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A head kick by Akagi misses

so Young counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Akagi looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Young content to stall in guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akemi Akagi dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Young dives in and scores a takedown into Akagi's guard.
Akagi wants to stand up but Young is controlling him.
Denis Young overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Young engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Akagi being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Young drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Akagi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Young has Akagi in his guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Akagi's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Akagi with a flurry of punches that miss.

Young is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Young tries to break the clinch but Akagi is controlling the position.
Young is trying to drag Akagi to the mat but Akagi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Akagi wants to break free but Young has control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Young has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Akagi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Akagi is looking to break free of the clinch but Young has double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Akagi's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Young is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Akagi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Denis Young. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Young gets control of Akagi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Young will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Akagi lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Akagi lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Akagi is breathing heavily.
Akagi lands a couple of digs.
Akagi prevents Young from getting back to his feet.
Young utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Akagi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Young punching from the bottom - just letting Akagi know he's still in a fight.
Akagi throws a big right hand that misses.
Young controlling the position.

Young uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Akagi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Young swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Akemi Akagi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Akagi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Young ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis Young dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Young clinches with his opponent.
Akagi is looking to break free of the clinch but Young has double underhooks.
Young jumps guard but Akagi stands there with Young around his waist. Young gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Akagi is trying to force a seperation but Young has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Akagi wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Young pulls guard.
Akagi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Akagi postures up and lands a big shot to Young's brow.


Young is rocked!
Akagi loads up on a big left hand. Young felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Akagi looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Young can't hide his disappointment, as Akagi celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akemi Akagi!
