PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yhorm Cinder (ranked 2133 p4p, 96 weight class) and Bubba Barzilla (ranked 23069 p4p, 188 weight class). Barzilla has chosen Ima Boss as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yhorm Cinder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bubba Barzilla!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cinder clinches with his opponent.
Barzilla gets underhooks to prevent Cinder's takedown attempt.
Barzilla is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Cinder lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Barzilla kicks Cinder off and gets back to his feet.
Cinder scores with a kick to the midsection.
Barzilla misses with a double jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barzilla will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cinder half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Cinder misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bubba Barzilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barzilla gets caught napping as Cinder dives in and scores a takedown. Barzilla manages to retain guard.
Barzilla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cinder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cinder drops back looking for a leg! Barzilla is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barzilla manages to kick Cinder off! Cinder jumps back into Barzilla's guard.
Cinder is looking to work some ground and pound but Barzilla has wrist control.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cinder's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Cinder has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cinder trying to control the position from guard on top but Barzilla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cinder decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Cinder rushes Barzilla and presses him up against the cage.

Barzilla pulls guard effortlessly.
Cinder wants to pass the guard but Barzilla is keeping the position.
Cinder passes Barzilla's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cinder in particular looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cinder slips a nice elbow through Barzilla's hands, connecting with Barzilla's forehead.

Cinder is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Barzilla is not content to let Cinder control the position.
Barzilla tries to kick Cinder off but Cinder keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cinder lands a nice short elbow.
Cinder lands with a punch from half guard.
Cinder is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Cinder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cinder working Barzilla over with strikes.
Cinder is taking a breather. Barzilla says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Barzilla taking some punishment here, with Cinder in his half guard.
Cinder wants to control but Barzilla is keeping him busy.
Cinder prevents Barzilla from standing back up.
Cinder has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cinder seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barzilla does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cinder is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Barzilla!
Barzilla is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barzilla is squirming around, avoiding Cinder's attempts to control the action.
Barzilla is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cinder fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cinder landing strikes, looking to finish!
Cinder cracks Barzilla with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


Barzilla is rocked!

Cinder looking to isolate an arm here. Barzilla doesn't see it coming and as Cinder extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Cinder!
