Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Bill Shorton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucio Francisco Carmo!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorton loads up on a big right hand but Carmo slips the punch.
Carmo misses with a right hand
letting Shorton counter with a right hand.


It looks like Lucio Francisco Carmo has been cut.
Shorton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carmo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Shorton loads up on a big right hand but Carmo slips the punch.
Carmo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Shorton scores with a crisp jab that stopped Carmo in his tracks.
Shorton on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Shorton throws out a loose jab but Carmo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Carmo avoids the body shot from Shorton.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shorton closes the distance and clinches.
Shorton blocking some punches.
Carmo misses with the head strike.
Shorton swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Shorton throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Shorton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Carmo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Shorton!

Shorton throws Carmo to one side and escapes!
Carmo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Shorton throws a body shot but no joy.
Shorton misses with a wild body shot.
Shorton works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carmo gets tackled into the ropes by Shorton. Shorton maintains the clinch.

Shorton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carmo misses with a looping left.
A jab lands there for Shorton.
Shorton moves forwards but Carmo connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shorton is looking to clinch.
Carmo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Shorton defends it well.

Shorton lands a big uppercut and Carmo crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Carmo looks OK. Shorton waves Carmo back to his feet!
Shorton just misses with a punch to the body.
Shorton throws a hook to the side of Carmo's head but Carmo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Carmo lands a really nice looking cross but Shorton seems unphased.
Shorton moves out of range as Carmo strikes.
Carmo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shorton swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Shorton throws a series of punches but Carmo avoids them all with ease.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nice body punch from Shorton.

Shorton has Carmo up against the ropes in a clinch.
Shorton tries a knee to the head but Carmo blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Shorton ducks under a wild hook from Carmo.
Shorton throws a big counter combination but Carmo scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Carmo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Shorton went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Carmo pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shorton back to the ropes. Carmo follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Shorton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Shorton counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carmo throws a jab when Shorton was well out of range.
Carmo tries to bum rush Shorton with a series of wild strikes but Shorton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
It looked like Shorton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Carmo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carmo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carmo throws a poor cross that misses
and Shorton counters with a straight right hand.
Carmo misses with a right hand
and Shorton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


That has opened up Lucio Francisco Carmo's cut even more.

Shorton cracks Carmo with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Carmo looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Shorton finish him?


Carmo is rocked!
Shorton fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Carmo square on the jaw! Damn, Carmo is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bill Shorton!
In his post fight interview, Bill Shorton started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
