Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Malloy (ranked 3107 p4p, 337 weight class) and Vladamir Emelianenko (ranked 3866 p4p, 398 weight class). Vladamir Emelianenko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Malloy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladamir Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko is looking to clinch.
Malloy stuffs the takedown attempt from Emelianenko. Emelianenko gets slowly back to his feet.
Emelianenko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A swing and a miss from Malloy.
A little jabbing left from Emelianenko on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Malloy throws a series of punches but Emelianenko avoids them all with ease.

Malloy closes the distance and pushes Emelianenko back into the cage.

Emelianenko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Malloy prevents it.
Emelianenko has Malloy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Malloy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Michael Malloy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladamir Emelianenko.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Malloy keeps moving.
Malloy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Emelianenko manages to get himself to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malloy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Malloy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Emelianenko lands with a shot to the body.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Malloy as he jumps to the side.
Emelianenko slaps away a takedown attempt from Malloy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Malloy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Malloy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Emelianenko has managed to free his arm - good work.
Emelianenko wants to control but Malloy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Malloy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Malloy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Emelianenko has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Malloy is working away from the top position though.
Malloy is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Malloy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Emelianenko's head.
We've been hearing good reports from Malloy's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Malloy decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Vladamir Emelianenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Malloy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Malloy drags the fight down to the ground.

Malloy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Malloy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Emelianenko's guard.

Malloy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Emelianenko feints a jab promting Malloy to slip. Emelianenko then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Malloy slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Emelianenko throws a sloppy head kick and Malloy moves out of range easily.
Malloy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Emelianenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Emelianenko gets tackled into the cage by Malloy. Malloy maintains the clinch.

Malloy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Malloy closes the distance and clinches.

Malloy has Emelianenko pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Malloy pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Emelianenko tumbling to the mat - Malloy dives into Emelianenko's guard.

Emelianenko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Emelianenko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Malloy looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Michael Malloy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Malloy lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malloy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Emelianenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Malloy is one step ahead there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Malloy showed his dominance in that final round.
