Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdul Wajid Zebramawi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcos Correa!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Correa.
Zebramawi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Correa.
Correa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zebramawi swivels and escapes.
Abdul Wajid Zebramawi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Correa.

Zebramawi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Correa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Zebramawi has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Correa to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Zebramawi is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Correa pulls down on the head and he's put Zebramawi to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Marcos Correa!
Marcos Correa took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview.
