Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnnie Carver (ranked 24715 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Daddy Johnson (ranked 3182 p4p, 283 weight class). Johnson has chosen DMX- X Gon' Give it to Ya as his entrance music. Big Daddy Johnson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnnie Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Big Daddy Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carver has his takedown stuffed
and Johnson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Carver throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Carver looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Carver stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carver wants it to stay on the feet.
Johnson fails with the takedown

and Carver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnson won't be happy with that.

Carver tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carver has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Johnson can't do much from the bottom here.

Carver has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Johnson dips to his left and cracks Carver with an uppercut!


It looks like Johnnie Carver has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Carver's hands.
Carver swinging wildly here.

Carver has managed to clinch.

Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Carver is proving a slippery customer.
Johnson has momentary wrist control but Carver slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carver cracks Johnson with a solid left hand.
Carver would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carver throwing strikes but missing.
Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Carver really is a fat lump.

Johnson is working an open guard so Carver takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carver circles away.
Johnnie Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Daddy Johnson.
Carver looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Carver persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson tries to clinch up.
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carver circles away.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Carver shows good takedown defense.
Johnson looks winded!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Johnson.

Carver throws Johnson to one side and escapes!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carver throws a looping overhand right but Johnson ducks down to avoid it.
Johnson lands a high kick!
Johnson fails with the takedown.
Johnson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Carver.
Johnson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Johnson drives through and clinches with Carver against the cage.

Johnson manages to break the clinch.

Johnson gets tackled into the cage by Carver. Carver maintains the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carver tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Johnson pulls guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Carver drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Carver off! Carver jumps back into Johnson's guard.

Carver stands up from Johnson's guard - Carver perhaps looking for a knockout.

Carver gets the takedown into side control.

Carver decides to stand back up.

Carver has Johnson up against the cage in a clinch.
Carver is trying to pull guard but Johnson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnnie Carver dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Johnnie Carver's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Johnson tries to clinch but Carver moves away

and Carver counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Carver decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Johnnie Carver is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Carver drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Johnson follows Carver to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Big Daddy Johnson!
