Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Commie Hunter (ranked 2568 p4p, 300 weight class) and Tony Duff (ranked 3935 p4p, 408 weight class). Tony Duff has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Commie Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tony Duff!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter misses with a wild body shot.
Hunter darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hunter lands a nice hook to Duff's body. Duff takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hunter throws a head kick but Duff moves out of range.

Hunter clinches up with Duff and pushes him back against the cage.
Hunter landing knees to the body.
Hunter scores a nice knee to the body.
Duff avoids a wild elbow strike from Hunter.
Duff tries for a takedown but Hunter manages to get underhooks.

Duff has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hunter is trying to keep an underhook but Duff manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunter tries to get to full guard but Duff has control of the leg.
Duff working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hunter trying to hold on to Duff's head to control him but Duff postures up.
Hunter is pressing down on Duff's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hunter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Duff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hunter controls Duff momentarily but Duff frees himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Duff got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hunter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Duff has managed to get both his arms back between Hunter's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hunter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Duff makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Duff pushing down on Hunter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Hunter is looking to improve his position.

Duff is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hunter controls Duff momentarily but Duff frees himself.

Hunter has his foot on Duff's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duff works his way back into a safe position though.

Hunter is rocked!
Duff gets to his feet and stands over Hunter, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hunter felt that one! Duff unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hunter from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Duff!
Tony Duff decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
