Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Mr Ward (ranked 5568 p4p, 231 weight class) and Sub Machine (ranked 24318 p4p, 276 weight class). Mr Ward is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 13 losses; Mr Ward! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Sub Machine!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Ward is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Machine's half guard.

Ward wants to control but Machine is keeping him busy.
Machine wants to control but Ward is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Ward is working for a kimura but Machine is defending it quite comfortably.

Ward is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Machine defends it well.
Ward passes into side control, despite Machine's attempt to control the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machine is not content to let Ward control the position.

Ward tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ward has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Machine is not content to let Ward control the position.

Ward is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Machine is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Ward wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Machine, who protects the arm well.
Ward has control of an arm but Machine manages to advance to Ward's back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Ward is squirming around, avoiding Machine's attempts to control the action.
We've been hearing good reports from Ward's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Machine controlling from the full mount.
Ward is trying to escape the mount.
Ward is controlling an arm, preventing Machine from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Ward sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Ward is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Machine's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Machine's back!

Machine defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Ward's arms.

Ward is looking for the choke from the back position but Machine is controlling his hands well.

Ward is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Machine knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Machine for a finish.
Machine can't escape the position.

Ward has managed to slip his arm under Machine's chin. This could be all over... yep, Machine is tapping out! Submission win for Ward.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mr Ward!
Mr Ward decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
