Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mac Garcia (ranked 20591 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyosuke Shibaraki (ranked 3194 p4p, 0 weight class). Shibaraki has chosen SAVAGE 101 as his entrance music. Kyosuke Shibaraki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mac Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyosuke Shibaraki!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Garcia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shibaraki won't be happy with that.
Garcia just content to control the position.
Shibaraki tries to buck Garcia off but Garcia is having none of it.
Garcia takes a little break here. Shibaraki wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garcia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shibaraki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Garcia seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shibaraki for as long as he can get away with.
Garcia could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shibaraki tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Garcia presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Garcia lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Garcia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shibaraki regains half guard.
Shibaraki flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Shibaraki is looking for a sweep. Garcia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Garcia is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Garcia looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Garcia content to control rather than advance.

Shibaraki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Garcia pulls his head out easily.
Garcia wants to pass the guard but Shibaraki is defending well.
Shibaraki wants to get back to his feet.
Shibaraki wants to improve his position but Garcia is controlling well.
Garcia content to control rather than advance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
More hug and hope from Garcia.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Garcia gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shibaraki to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Garcia wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shibaraki postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Garcia dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mac Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyosuke Shibaraki.

Garcia turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Garcia manages to end up in side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shibaraki tries to kick Garcia off in order to stand up. Garcia Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The referee asks Garcia politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Garcia prefers to stall for the moment though.

Shibaraki throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Shibaraki pushes Garcia away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Garcia gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Garcia tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Shibaraki is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Garcia dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Shibaraki closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Shibaraki jumps guard but Garcia stands there with Shibaraki around his waist. Shibaraki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Garcia has hold of one of Shibaraki's legs. Shibaraki is fighting the takedown attempt but Garcia gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Garcia takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Shibaraki throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Shibaraki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Garcia pulls his head out easily.
