Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shoju Bayushi (ranked 245 p4p, 32 weight class) and Koichi Kamei (ranked 2713 p4p, 299 weight class). Bayushi's entrance music is Scorpions - Always Somewhere. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shoju Bayushi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koichi Kamei!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Bayushi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kamei throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bayushi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Koichi Kamei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kamei throws a hook to the side of Bayushi's head but Bayushi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bayushi takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koichi Kamei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Koichi Kamei comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kamei has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
