The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sava shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Berg defends it nicely.
Sava pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Berg throws a series of punches but Sava avoids them all with ease.
Berg dives in and grabs Sava's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sava pushes down on Berg's head and hops out.
Berg swats away the attempt to clinch by Sava.
Berg swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Sava throws a push kick but Berg slaps the foot to one side.

Sava stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sava wants it to stay on the feet.

Berg feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sava is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Berg can't fight it off and eventually Sava manages to take the fight to the floor. Berg looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sava drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Berg manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sava has Berg in his guard.
Sava has his hands on Berg's head, controlling the position.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lyman Berg.
Well Berg has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
