PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sairanix Lokren (ranked 1252 p4p, 176 weight class) and Alonzo Trotter (ranked 2115 p4p, 272 weight class). Lokren comes to the cage accompanied by Beast. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sairanix Lokren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alonzo Trotter!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trotter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lokren swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A little feinted left hand from Lokren on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Trotter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lokren moves away.
An attempted straight right counter from Lokren misses the target.
Lokren connects with a good right hand that stumbles Trotter. Trotter circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Trotter misses with a straight right.
A big right from Trotter misses.
Trotter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lokren manages to avoid it.
A lazy left from Lokren finds it's target.
Trotter connects with the punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lokren has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lokren there as he acknowledges the shot.
Lokren tried to score with a low kick but Trotter checks it.
A countering left hand to the body from Trotter misses.
Lokren slips under a jab.
Lokren swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Trotter lands the left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trotter tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lokren defends well and Trotter ends up having to push Lokren into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lokren darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lokren avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
It looked like Lokren wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Lokren missing with a left hand there. Trotter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Trotter comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Trotter gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trotter trying to control the action but Lokren is working from the bottom.
Lokren regains half guard.

Trotter is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Trotter looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Trotter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lokren tries to roll over but Trotter keeps him under control.

Trotter is looking for a kimura but Lokren is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Trotter to get the leverage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lokren tries to get to full guard but Trotter has control of the leg.
Lokren is trying to stand back up but Trotter is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Trotter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Trotter is working for a kimura but Lokren is defending it quite comfortably.
Lokren is refusing to be controlled, as Trotter sits in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lokren has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Trotter is working away from the top position though.
Lokren wants to improve his position but Trotter is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lokren looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Lokren swings for the body but Trotter moves out of range.
Nice shot lands for Trotter.

Trotter drives through and clinches with Lokren against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lokren misses with a short punch on the inside.
Trotter prevents a body shot from Lokren.

Trotter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lokren throws a big shot that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alonzo Trotter dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Trotter takes a swing at Lokren's ribcage but misses.
Trotter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alonzo Trotter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lokren getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Trotter fails in his attempt to clinch.
Trotter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Trotter connects with an inside leg kick.
Trotter clobbers Lokren with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Trotter slips a straight right by Lokren.
Lokren walks into a straight right hand from Trotter.

and Lokren counters with a left to the body.
Lokren jabs Trotter to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Trotter tries to clinch but Lokren moves away
letting Lokren counter with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Trotter looks to land a body kick but Lokren moved away.
A counter left hand to the body from Lokren misses its target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trotter throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lokren connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Trotter swings widly with a right hand
and Lokren connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lokren takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lokren clobbers Trotter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


Trotter is rocked!
Lokren sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Trotter's defenses. It connects perfectly with Trotter's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sairanix Lokren!
Sairanix Lokren decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
The defeated Alonzo Trotter had this to say: 'Sorry dudes'.
