Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Galen Dall (ranked 207 p4p, 27 weight class) and Elmore James (ranked 300 p4p, 44 weight class). Dall kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Red - Already Over. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Galen Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elmore James!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a body punch but Dall moves out of range.
James connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Good shot there by James.
James cracks Dall with a good jab.
Dall gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Dall throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dall shoots for a takedown but James saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
James misses with a body kick.
James lands a head shot.
Dall ducks under a wild hook from James.
A bone on bone clash there as James blocks the leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dall, as that shot connected.
Elmore James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James misses with a straight left.
Dall looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Dall shoots for a takedown but James saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dall lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A big left from James misses.
Elmore James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A swing and a miss from James.
Dall is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Dall looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Dall lands a glancing blow to the side of James's head.


It looks like Elmore James has been cut.
James throws a jab when Dall was well out of range.
Dall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dall gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Galen Dall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dall pivots, looking for a leg kick but James is out of range and Dall settles back down.
Dall keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Dall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A slow jab from Dall misses its intended target.
Dall moves away from the strike by James.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dall. That did some damage!
James tries to score with a low kick but Dall moves his leg out of the way.
It looked like Dall wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
James misses with a lunging right hand
and Dall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
James lands a lovely overhand right.
Dall walks into a jab.
Dall feints and then cracks James's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow James down.
James swings widly with a right hand
and Dall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


James is rocked!
James is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Dall had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Dall lands a nice leg kick that just misses James's sensitive parts.
James connects with the punch.
Dall slips a jab from James.
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dall throws out the jab.

James connects with a jab.
Dall misses the shot to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from James! But no joy.
James catches Dall with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Dall makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

James rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Dall counter with a right hand.


That has opened up Elmore James's cut even more.
This has been an exciting period of action!
James throws a jab when Dall was well out of range.
Dall moves out of range of the strikes.
Dall half committed to a counter leg kick.
James throws the left hand but Dall avoids the punch easily.
Dall is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Dall ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dall throws out the jab.
James checks a low kick from Dall.
James connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dall's hands.
James ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A big left from Dall misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elmore James dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Dall loads up on a big right hand but James slips the punch.
James looks like he wants to counter punch here.
James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dall was well out of range. Poor timing from James.
James lands with a straight right. Dall didn't see that one coming.
James throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dall scoring well with a low kick there.
Dall wants to slow James down by chopping away at his legs.
James appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
James bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dall's head.
James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dall drops down looking for a counter takedown but James sprawls and moves away.
James throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James connects with an inside leg kick.
A jab from James misses.
Dall throwing a counter right hand but James manages to avoid it.
James swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dall connects with a right hand. James shakes it off.

A solid leg kick lands there for James.
Nice uppercut lands for James. That snapped Dall's head back.
Dall swings for the body but James moves out of range.

James uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dall.

Dall changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
James is trying to escape the position but Dall is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James stops Dall from passing to mount.
You can see the frustration on James's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dall advances to mount.
James is squirming around, avoiding Dall's attempts to control the action.
Dall wants to take James's back here but James is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James tries to hold on but Dall postures up.

Dall swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and James is now in Dall's guard. A big mistake from Dall there, giving up the dominant position!
Dall has a closed guard, preventing James from standing up.
Dall is controlling James's posture.

Dall is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dall is pulling down on James's head. It's preventing any offense from James, at least for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dall isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. James stacks Dall on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by James!
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dall keeps working.
Dall is looking for a sweep.
Dall wants to control but James postures up.
Dall manages to work his way to half guard, despite James's best efforts.
Dall is looking to improve his position.
Dall works his way to full guard. Good work.
Dall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as James controls the pace.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elmore James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


James will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Good leg kick by James there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Dall takes a jab right on the kisser.
Nice defenses there by Dall.
Dall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James misses with a lunging right hand
letting Dall counter with a right hand.
Dall scores with a hook.
Dall misses with a low kick.
Dall takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Dall tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dall somewhat.
James throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Dall counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for James!
Dall controls the position.

Dall swings around for an armbar but James sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dall's guard.
Dall tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
James not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Dall looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! James has picked Dall up and slammed him! Dall can't keep hold of the triangle and James manages to pass to side control!

James decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dall to his feet.
Dall scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Galen Dall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A decent looking cross lands there for Dall.
Dall slips a jab and a cross from James.
James throws a right and a left that Dall avoids nicely.
Dall has a takedown stuffed.
Dall slips a straight right by James.
James falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Dall counter with a right hand.
James misses with an uppercut
and Dall counters with a straight right hand.
Elmore James is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
James lands with a straight right. Dall didn't see that one coming.

Dall swings away with a leg kick that misses.
James's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dall under the eye.
Dall defending well as James loads up on a big left hand.

and James counters with a nice uppercut.
James has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fighters circling - James throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dall feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Dall is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
James lands with a thumping leg kick.
James on the wrong end of a nice hook.


The cut above Elmore James's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Dall digs a good hook to James's body.
Dall looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Dall slips under a jab.
James walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
James is still on wobbly legs! Can Dall finish him?

Dall ducks right into an uppercut from James.
James checks a low kick from Dall.
James seems to have recovered his senses.
Dall shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A jab from James does it's job there.
Dall keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from James.
An attempted straight right counter from Dall misses the target.
Dall connects with a crisp jab.
James waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dall.
Dall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it.
Dall gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Dall swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dall. James does a little dance to reset his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Elmore James.
Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
