Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Geraldo Cobb (ranked 4848 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xilef Xenox (ranked 6174 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Geraldo Cobb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xilef Xenox!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Xenox shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cobb's guard.
Cobb bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Xenox's guard.

Xenox being controlled here, momentarily.
Cobb's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobb trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Xenox is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cobb advances to half guard.
Cobb really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cobb is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Xenox rushes Cobb and presses him up against the cage.
Xenox wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cobb wants to get back to striking at distance but Xenox won't allow it.
Cobb working hard to break the clinch.
Xenox can't break the clinch.
Cobb lands an elbow inside.

Xenox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cobb has a takedown stuffed.
Despite the aggression on Xenox's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Xenox throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cobb was covering up waiting for the punch and Xenox finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cobb wriggles free and stands up.

Xenox moves into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Xenox is trying to stall.
Xenox wants to get back to striking at distance but Cobb won't allow it.
Cobb lands an elbow inside that Xenox shrugs off.

Xenox jumps guard and drags Cobb to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cobb seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Geraldo Cobb will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Xenox shoots in and bounces Cobb off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cobb manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Cobb moves into range and clinches up with Xenox.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobb throws an elbow but it misses.

Xenox drags the fight down to the ground.
Cobb is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Geraldo Cobb overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cobb stays in close to Xenox's body and controls the position.

Xenox looking for a sweep. Not yet Xenox, not yet.
Xenox working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cobb.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Xenox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cobb doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Xenox counters with a lovely shot to the body.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cobb has closed the distance and engaged Xenox in a clinch.

Cobb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cobb moves out of range as Xenox throws a body kick.
Cobb appears to be looking for a big counter.

Xenox shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Cobb kicks Xenox off and gets back to his feet.

Cobb gets caught napping as Xenox dives in and scores a takedown. Cobb manages to retain guard.

Xenox preventing the sweep.

Cobb is looking for a triangle but Xenox pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Xenox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cobb swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Xenox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cobb. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Xenox postures up in Cobb's guard and throws a big left but Cobb blocks it.
Cobb wants to stand and escape but Xenox is having none of it.
Xenox loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Cobb is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Xenox clinches up with Cobb and pushes him back against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Cobb throws an elbow but misses.
Xenox misses with a hook to the ribs.
Cobb content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Xenox manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cobb passes into half guard.
Cobb controlling the pace.
Xenox trying to control here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Geraldo Cobb will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Xenox fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cobb slips a jab and a cross from Xenox.
Cobb tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Xenox manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cobb tries to close the distance and clinch up but Xenox swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Xenox throws a counter combo.

Xenox closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cobb to the mat! Cobb manages to get full guard.
Cobb pulls Xenox in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobb tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Xenox must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Xenox postures up in Cobb's guard and throws a big left but Cobb blocks it.

Cobb is working an open guard so Xenox takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Cobb throws a sloppy head kick
and Xenox counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Cobb is lucky that one didn't land flush.


Cobb is rocked!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nice sprawl there from Xenox as Cobb shoots in.
As Cobb backs off Xenox throws a huge counter combo but Cobb manages to avoid it all.
Oh Cobb is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Xenox shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Cobb is on queer street and Xenox is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Xilef Xenox!
Xilef Xenox bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
