Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vito Holt (ranked 6373 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Kent (ranked 4859 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent has chosen Ready for war as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vito Holt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Kent!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kent closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kent wants to control but Holt is keeping him busy.
Kent throwing shots but Holt is blocking nicely.
Kent controlling the action here.

Kent is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Holt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kent seems to be working for a kimura but Holt defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kent stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Holt to get to his feet.
Alex Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Holt tries for a takedown but Kent circles away easily

and Kent counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Kent breaks the clinch.

Kent looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kent is trying to control the action in half guard but Holt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Holt is trying to stand back up but Kent is controlling him
Kent tries to pass the half guard into mount. Holt knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Kent decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Holt is looking to clinch but Kent is avoiding it.

Kent clinches with his opponent.

Kent drags the fight down to the ground.
Holt in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kent trying to keep a closed guard but Holt is proving a slippery customer.
Kent looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Holt puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Holt wants to work for an arm triangle but Kent is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kent trying to control but Holt postures up.

Holt is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kent wants to get back to his feet.
Kent gets back to full guard.

Holt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kent, up you get!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kent shoots in and gets a takedown into Holt's guard.
Kent wants to control from the top but Holt keeps moving.
Kent looking to sit in guard and control but Holt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kent has momentary wrist control but Holt slips an elbow through the middle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Holt with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kent working a defensive guard but Holt passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Kent dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kent lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Vito Holt has been cut.
Kent takes a swing at Holt's ribcage but misses.
Holt avoids the head kick by Kent.

Kent scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Holt kicks Kent off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kent closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Holt's guard.
Holt is wriggling around but Kent manages to pass to half guard.

Holt blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kent.
Holt wants to control but Kent is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kent is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Holt wants to get back to his feet.
Holt tries to get to full guard but Kent has control of the leg.
Kent trying to mount his opponent but Holt defends it.
Holt taking some punishment here, with Kent in his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kent is trying to control. Holt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kent has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kent trying to control from Holt's half guard. Holt has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Kent is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Holt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kent can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kent misses with a series of wild punches.

Kent darts in and clinches Holt up against the cage.
Holt is trying to pull guard but Kent turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Holt tries to pull guard but Kent won't allow it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kent creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kent managing to block the knees to the body from Holt.

Kent lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Holt kicks off Kent and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kent misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Holt.

Kent bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Kent moves into range and clinches up with Holt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Kent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Vito Holt's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Holt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kent counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Holt is trying to break the clinch but Kent has him pressed against the cage.

Kent has picked Holt up - he's going for a ride! Kent dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Kent controlling the action here.
Holt is pressing down on Kent's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kent wants to pass the guard but Holt is keeping the position.

Kent stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Kent closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Holt did well to prevent Kent getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kent working over Holt with some ground and pound. Holt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Kent stalling.
Kent takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kent decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Kent closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kent uses his free foot to push down on Holt's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Holt.
Kent controlling from the full mount.
Holt is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Kent looking to control but Holt is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Holt is looking to improve his position but Kent isn't that keen on the idea.
Kent landing strikes from the mount.
Kent looking to control and managing it successfully.

Holt is looking to get to half guard.
Kent controlling the pace for now.
Kent lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Kent controlling the pace for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Holt is trying desperately to improve position.

Alex Kent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kent has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
