Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miro Tynkkynen (ranked 1010 p4p, 142 weight class) and Lenny Kowalski (ranked 933 p4p, 128 weight class). Tynkkynen's entrance music is Cow herd - Fields. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Miro Tynkkynen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lenny Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tynkkynen throws a sloppy head kick and Kowalski moves out of range easily.
Kowalski throws a jab but it's blocked by Tynkkynen.

Tynkkynen closes the distance and clinches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kowalski.
Kowalski is trying to break the clinch but Tynkkynen is controlling him.
Kowalski avoids a wild elbow strike from Tynkkynen.

Kowalski drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tynkkynen gets underhooks to prevent Kowalski's takedown attempt.
Tynkkynen doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kowalski changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tynkkynen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Miro Tynkkynen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenny Kowalski.
Tynkkynen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tynkkynen wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kowalski avoids the head kick by Tynkkynen.
Kowalski unleashes a big counter combination but Tynkkynen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Tynkkynen tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kowalski counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tynkkynen's knee momentarily.

Tynkkynen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kowalski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It seemed like Kowalski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Tynkkynen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kowalski.
Tynkkynen is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kowalski.

Kowalski has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Tynkkynen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Kowalski jumps guard and drags Tynkkynen to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kowalski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tynkkynen defends well.

Kowalski lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Tynkkynen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kowalski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kowalski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tynkkynen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kowalski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tynkkynen wants to control position but Kowalski is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Tynkkynen here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Lenny Kowalski!
In defeat, Miro Tynkkynen stepped up to the mic, saying 'Sorry dad, next fight will be better.. I promise'.
