The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gensen fails in his attempt to clinch.

Gensen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Souza looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gensen wants to control for a moment but Souza uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Souza is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gensen pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza is looking to control Gensen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Souza avoid being mounted?

Gensen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Souza knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Gensen is stalling here. Souza is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gensen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Souza has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Souza has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Gensen is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Souza yanks on the arm and Gensen is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Souza.
