The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos defending well as Nelson loads up on a big left hand.

Ramos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nelson has his feet on Ramos's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Nelson shoots in looking for a takedown. Ramos tries to sprawl out of it but Nelson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ramos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ramos shoots for a double leg takedown but Nelson sprawls well. He's pushed Ramos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nelson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ramos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ramos sneaks out the side door and pushes Nelson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ramos fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Nelson dives in and scores a takedown into Ramos's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ramos is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Pasquale Nelson will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pasquale Nelson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nelson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
