Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yoel Edson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Asmodius Crowley!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Crowley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Crowley throws a series of punches but Edson avoids them all with ease.
Edson throws a head kick that misses

and Crowley counters with a takedown into side control.

Edson sneaks out the side door and pushes Crowley away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Edson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Crowley swivels and escapes.
Crowley is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Edson misses with a head kick.
Edson misses with a double jab

and Crowley counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Crowley sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Crowley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Edson is keeping the position for now.

Let's hope that Crowley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Edson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Edson thows a body kick. Crowley tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Edson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Edson misses with a head kick.
Edson fails to land the takedown.
Edson throws a body kick that misses

and Crowley counters with a shoot takedown. Edson fights it but they end up in guard.
Edson is wriggling around but Crowley manages to pass to half guard.

Crowley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Edson is looking for a sweep. Crowley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Edson wants to improve his position but Crowley is controlling well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Crowley prevents Edson from improving his position.
Edson is looking to control Crowley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Edson avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Edson throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Crowley counters with a shoot takedown. Edson fights it but they end up in guard.

Edson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Crowley drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Edson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Edson has Crowley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Crowley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Asmodius Crowley will probably get the nod.

and Crowley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Crowley.
Edson is trying to keep Crowley in close.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edson wants to stand and escape but Crowley is having none of it.

Crowley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Edson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Crowley swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Edson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Crowley, pushing him back against the cage.
Crowley wants a takedown but no success here.

Crowley tightens his grip and picks Edson up, before dumping him to the ground. Edson manages to land in guard.
Edson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Edson is working hard here to advance position.

Edson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Crowley dives into side control.
Edson pushes Crowley away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Crowley gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Asmodius Crowley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Edson misses with a takedown attempt

and Crowley counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Edson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Edson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
