Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Winkle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Zorba!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winkle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zorba sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Winkle shoots in looking for a takedown. Zorba tries to sprawl out of it but Winkle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zorba manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A jab from Zorba misses.

Zorba drops Winkle with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Winkle looks back up at him and smiles so Zorba waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Winkle is rocked!


It looks like Tony Winkle has been cut.
We've been hearing reports that Winkle has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Winkle shoots in for a takedown but Zorba shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Winkle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zorba throws a big shot that misses.
Winkle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zorba pinned against the cage. Zorba gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Zorba looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Zorba leaves Winkle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Winkle is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zorba's half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Winkle in particular looking to stall.

Winkle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zorba is just riding it out for now. Winkle eventually gives up the hold.
Zorba is staying active underneath Winkle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Winkle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Winkle is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Zorba sees it coming and defends easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zorba can do anything to dispel that myth.

Winkle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zorba defends it well.

Zorba is defending against the submission attempts here by Winkle.

Winkle has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Zorba defend it? Winkle steps over the head and cranks it - Zorba is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Winkle!

Tony Winkle decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
