Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joao Sousa (ranked 19249 p4p, 540 weight class) and Vitaly Ragozin (ranked 23308 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sousa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Beat It. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sousa has closed the distance and engaged Ragozin in a clinch.
Ragozin's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Sousa lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ragozin.
Sousa lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ragozin backwards.
Sousa pushes Ragozin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sousa scores with a shoulder strike.
Sousa lands a left hand.
Sousa is pushing Ragozin up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ragozin is trying to pull guard but Sousa turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Sousa scores with a shot to the side of Ragozin's head.

Ragozin is rocked!
Sousa misses with a short punch on the inside.
Ragozin is still on wobbly legs! Can Sousa finish him?

Sousa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sousa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ragozin content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Sousa has locked up a guillotine! Sousa's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Ragozin is holding on here and Sousa must be using up a lot of energy. Ragozin has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Sousa gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
