PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hattori (ranked 23780 p4p, 495 weight class) and Lucas Pablo (ranked 23529 p4p, 512 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hattori has closed the distance and engaged Pablo in a clinch.
Hattori has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pablo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hattori drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pablo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pablo shoots in but no luck this time.
Hattori feinted with a counter takedown.

Hattori wants to work for an arm triangle but Pablo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hattori in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hattori is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hattori has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Pablo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Pablo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hattori controls the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
