Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chad Hooper (ranked 7269 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Mandore (ranked 19972 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruben Mandore will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chad Hooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruben Mandore!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Mandore gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mandore has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hooper clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Hooper is trying to shake Mandore off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Mandore won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Ruben Mandore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mandore closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hooper slows down the pace here.
Mandore is trying to force a seperation but Hooper has the dominant position.

Hooper pressing his opponent against the cage.

Mandore has hold of one of Hooper's legs. Hooper is fighting the takedown attempt but Mandore gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hooper pulls Mandore in close to prevent any damage.
Hooper could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hooper's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hooper is adopting a defensive guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mandore trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hooper's guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hooper throws a combination that misses
and Mandore counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Mandore takes the fight into the clinch.

Mandore gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hooper wants to control but Mandore is keeping busy.

Mandore thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hooper's head.
Hooper preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Hooper regains full guard. Nicely done.
Mandore looks winded!
Mandore is fighting to break Hooper's control of his arms but Hooper is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Hooper has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mandore has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Mandore tries to circle away but Hooper has him pinned against the cage.

Hooper ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hooper no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hooper pulls Mandore in close to prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hooper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chad Hooper will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hooper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mandore throws a head kick but Hooper moves out of range.

Mandore closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hooper bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Mandore has had enough of the clinch but Hooper keeps him there for the moment.

Mandore pulls guard effortlessly.

Hooper throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Hooper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hooper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hooper is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Hooper throws a big right hand that misses.
Hooper is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hooper landing some decent shots from guard.
Hooper postures up in Mandore's guard and throws a big left but Mandore blocks it.
Hooper makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hooper trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hooper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hooper postures up and lands a big shot to Mandore's brow.
Hooper missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hooper is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hooper scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Hooper cracks Mandore with a solid left hand.
Hooper is working Mandore over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hooper stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mandore leaves Hooper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mandore clinches with his opponent.
Hooper's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hooper unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Hooper pulls Mandore into guard.

Hooper pushes a forearm under Mandore's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mandore is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chad Hooper!
