The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leroy looks to throw the jab but Rico is out of range.

Leroy cracks Rico with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rico tries to bum rush Leroy with a series of wild strikes but Leroy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Leroy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rico sprawls well initially but Leroy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Leroy moves into full mount! Rico won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leroy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rico is now in Leroy's guard. A big mistake from Leroy there, giving up the dominant position!
Leroy wants to sweep here but Rico controlling him for the moment.

Rico wants to stand but Leroy is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rico must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Leroy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rico really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leroy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
