Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toney Hyde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Captain Alex!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alex throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Alex throws a quick inside leg kick.
Alex buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A low kick from Alex is predictable there

and Hyde counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hyde.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hyde decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Alex, up you get!
Alex lands a leg kick that knocks Hyde off balance momentarily.
Hyde keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
It looked like Hyde was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Alex lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Alex moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Hyde closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hyde tries to stand but Alex is controlling his head.
Alex can't do much from the bottom here.

Hyde creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Alex sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Alex's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hyde is trying to get an arm triangle but Alex is defending well.

Alex parries the strikes from Hyde easily there. Hyde is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Alex to escape.
Alex tries to improve position but can't.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hyde thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hyde postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Alex parries the strikes from Hyde easily there. Hyde is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Alex to escape.
Alex is trying to get back to half guard.
Alex is holding Hyde down, trying to stall.
Alex can't do much from the bottom here.
Alex manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alex gets back to full guard.
Alex is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hyde is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Alex is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Alex has escaped and now he's on top!

Hyde really is a fat lump.

Alex wants to control from the top but Hyde keeps moving.
Hyde wants to sweep here but Alex controlling him for the moment.

Hyde wants to improve his position but instead Alex has moved into half guard.
Hyde might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hyde has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alex is working away from the top position though.

Hyde tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

That was a close round but I would say that Toney Hyde will probably get the nod.

Alex cracks the inside of Hyde's front leg.

Hyde darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hyde prevents Alex from improving his position.

Alex gets back to full guard.
Alex is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hyde wants to stand but Alex is controlling his posture from full guard.
Alex wants to sweep but no luck.
Toney Hyde overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hyde working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hyde wants to stand and escape but instead Alex has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Alex passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hyde manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alex's best efforts.
Alex is trying to control. Hyde wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Alex is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Hyde is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Alex wants to control the pace but Hyde is squirming around nicely.
Hyde manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Alex trying to control the action but Hyde is working from the bottom.
Alex wants to free his trapped foot but Hyde is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hyde tries to get to full guard but Alex has control of the leg.
Hyde is not content to let Alex control the position.
Hyde has a hand on Alex's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Alex takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Alex seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Hyde is holding on tight.
Hyde is squirming around, avoiding Alex's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Captain Alex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Alex throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hyde has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alex.

Hyde shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Alex napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Alex can't do much from the bottom here.

Hyde looks up at the clock and then as Alex takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hyde smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hyde stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Alex is looking to score with low kicks.
Alex throws a quick inside leg kick.

and Hyde counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alex won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Alex's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hyde has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

An inside leg kick lands from Alex.
Captain Alex is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hyde has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alex.
Alex misses with a low kick.

Hyde clinches with his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hyde breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alex feints and then cracks Hyde's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hyde down.

Hyde feints and as Alex raises his hands in defense, Hyde changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alex looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hyde puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Alex takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hyde is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alex is just riding it out for now. Hyde eventually gives up the hold.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hyde is looking for a kimura here.
Hyde has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Alex works to full guard.
Alex is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Alex is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Hyde trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Alex is trying to keep Hyde in close.
Hyde has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alex is proving hard to escape from.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Alex is trying to keep Hyde in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alex throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

And that's the end of the fight!
Toney Hyde showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hyde has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
