PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce White Jr (ranked 1053 p4p, 119 weight class) and Sildosoves Bagueirau (ranked 3234 p4p, 283 weight class). Bagueirau has chosen The Way as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce White Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sildosoves Bagueirau!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bagueirau paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Bagueirau closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming White Jr to the mat! White Jr manages to get full guard.

White Jr looking for a guillotine here but Bagueirau defends easily.
White Jr has Bagueirau pulled in close to control his posture.
Bagueirau trying to control but White Jr is working from the bottom.

White Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bagueirau doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bagueirau manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White Jr has Bagueirau pulled in close to control his posture.
Bagueirau sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed White Jr's guard.

White Jr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bagueirau is working away from the top position though.

Bagueirau is sneakily working for an arm triangle but White Jr sees it coming and defends easily.

Bagueirau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bagueirau got a little sloppy there for a moment and White Jr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bagueirau has managed to get both his arms back between White Jr's legs - danger averted.
Bagueirau wants to control from the top but White Jr keeps moving.
White Jr looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bagueirau is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
White Jr looking for a sweep. Not yet White Jr, not yet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

White Jr gets in close and instigates a clinch.

White Jr lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Bagueirau has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. White Jr avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bruce White Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sildosoves Bagueirau.
Bagueirau is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

White Jr manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

White Jr has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bagueirau is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for White Jr.

Bagueirau tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bagueirau has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

And Bagueirau tries to counter it with a takedown but White Jr pushes his down on his head and steps out.
