Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Marko (ranked 2324 p4p, 241 weight class) and Jack Steel (ranked 1175 p4p, 154 weight class). Jack Steel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Marko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Steel!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marko gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Steel tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Marko's elbow.
Steel wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Steel tries to work over Marko's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Marko is trying to pull guard but Steel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Marko blocks an uppercut.
Steel lands an uppercut.
Steel pushes Marko back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Steel misses with the head strike.
Marko throws a punch but it's blocked by Steel.
Steel tries to break free but Marko pushes him back against the cage.
Steel lands with a short shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel wants to break the clinch but can't.
Marko has Steel pressed against the cage, preventing Steel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Steel can't find room to land a body shot as Marko controls the action.
Steel swings wildly with an uppercut but Marko uses good head movement to avoid it.

Steel struggles to land a body shot inside as Marko controls his hands.
Steel has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Marko seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Steel can turn it around.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steel is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Marko had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Marko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Steel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Marko back to the cage. Steel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Steel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Marko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Jack Steel has been cut.
Marko wants to clinch but Steel slips to the side
and Steel counters with a nice uppercut.
Marko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steel swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Marko misses with a combination
and Steel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The fight stays on the outside here - Marko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Marko lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marko dives in and grabs Steel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Steel pushes down on Marko's head and hops out.

and Steel counters with a left and a right that stings Marko.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Steel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Marko.
Marko doesn't manage to clinch there - Steel circles away.

Despite the aggression on Steel's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Steel throws a looping overhand right but Marko ducks down to avoid it.
Steel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Marko doesn't manage to clinch there - Steel circles away.
Marko looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Steel. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Marko. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Steel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marko looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Steel throws a jab when Marko was well out of range.
Marko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steel pinned against the cage. Steel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Marko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Steel.
Marko moves in looking to clinch but Steel pushes him off.

Steel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Marko has time to react.

Steel might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Steel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Jack Steel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Steel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
