Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Balthazar Kosowski (ranked 4467 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Nicklaus (ranked 5287 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Nicklaus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Balthazar Kosowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Nicklaus!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kosowski closes the distance and clinches.
Kosowski tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nicklaus avoids it.

Kosowski drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nicklaus sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Kosowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nicklaus on the ground.

Kosowski has his foot on Nicklaus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nicklaus works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nicklaus trying to control but Kosowski is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nicklaus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kosowski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kosowski is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nicklaus's half guard.

Nicklaus looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Nicklaus controlling the position for now.

Kosowski is looking to stall here but Nicklaus recovers full guard.

Nicklaus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nicklaus is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Kosowski tries to free his leg and advance position but Nicklaus is retaining full guard.
Nicklaus is trying to control the position but Kosowski postures up.
Kosowski controls from within his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kosowski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nicklaus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kosowski, into his guard.

Kosowski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nicklaus lands a couple of elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kosowski keeping moving, preventing Nicklaus from controlling successfully.

Kosowski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nicklaus stacks Kosowski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nicklaus!
Nicklaus wants to stand but Kosowski has his arm trapped.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kosowski is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Nicklaus gets to mount! Kosowski was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Nicklaus dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kosowski tries for a takedown but Nicklaus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kosowski moves into range and clinches up with Nicklaus.
Nicklaus is trying to push Kosowski away but Kosowski has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kosowski turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kosowski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nicklaus keeps working.
Jack Nicklaus has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nicklaus manages to get back to half guard.
Nicklaus wants to control but Kosowski is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kosowski wants to take a breather but Nicklaus is having none of it.
Nicklaus works his way to full guard. Good work.
Nicklaus is trying to control the position but Kosowski postures up.

Nicklaus pushes a forearm under Kosowski's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kosowski is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
