Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Davids!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Victor Kowalevitz!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Kowalevitz 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A jab lands there for Davids.
Davids misses with a lunging right hand

and Kowalevitz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Davids won't be happy with that.
Davids on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davids tries to get out of the position.
Kowalevitz tries to advance to mount but Davids denies him.
Davids tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kowalevitz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Davids seems a little lost for a moment, as Kowalevitz dominates the positioning.
Davids tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kowalevitz trying to control the position but Davids is working away.
Davids tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Kowalevitz easily slips into full mount!
Davids has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Kowalevitz wants to control the pace but Davids is squirming around nicely.

Kowalevitz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davids haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kowalevitz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Kowalevitz with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kowalevitz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Davids is looking to escape.
Davids tries to hold on but Kowalevitz postures up.

Kowalevitz working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Davids looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Kowalevitz! Submission of the night perhaps?
