Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Topper Green and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Savage!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Holt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Savage is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Savage parries the strikes from Holt easily there. Holt is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Savage to escape.
Holt creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Savage sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holt postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Savage is trying to control Holt's posture but Holt avoids it.
Savage seems a little lost for a moment, as Holt dominates the positioning.
Holt stands up and beckons Savage to his feet.
Savage gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Holt to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Holt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Holt throws a strike but Savage rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Let's hope that Holt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Holt has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Savage stands up over Holt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Holt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Savage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Savage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Holt has managed to clinch.
Holt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Holt closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Savage sneaks out the side door and pushes Holt away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Holt shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Savage is trying to defend but Holt finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Holt shoots in and bounces Savage off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Savage could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jamie Savage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Holt closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Holt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Holt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Holt showed some decent athleticism there.
Holt is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Holt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Savage with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Holt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Holt is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jaykob Holt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nice takedown defense from Holt. No joy for Savage on that attempt.

Savage wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Holt manages to pass to side control.

Holt postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Savage to stand up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Savage enables Holt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Savage manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Holt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Holt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Holt darts in and clinches Savage up against the cage.

Holt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Holt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Holt stands up and beckons Savage to join him on the feet.
Holt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Savage's guard.
Holt gets to his feet. Savage looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Savage has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Savage there as he acknowledges the shot.
Savage is rocked!

Holt lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Savage is looking to close the distance but Holt sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Savage crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Savage is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
