Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jumpin Jack Flash (ranked 4277 p4p, 213 weight class) and Here Goes Nothing (ranked 4481 p4p, 221 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jumpin Jack Flash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Here Goes Nothing!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nothing gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Flash to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Flash drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nothing manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Flash has Nothing in his guard.


Flash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nothing can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nothing avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nothing wants to control from the top but Flash keeps moving.

Nothing thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Flash had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nothing defends it easily.
Nothing trying to control but Flash is working from the bottom.

Flash looking for a guillotine here but Nothing defends easily.
Flash seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flash looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nothing is one step ahead there.

Nothing thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Flash working for a triangle but Nothing defends it easily.

Flash is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nothing trying to control but Flash is working from the bottom.

Nothing drops back looking for a leg! Flash is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Flash manages to kick Nothing off! Nothing jumps back into Flash's guard.

Flash is looking for a triangle but Nothing pushes his legs off easily.

Flash has his foot on Nothing's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nothing works his way back into a safe position though.

Nothing avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Flash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nothing gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Flash can't keep his opponent in guard - Nothing advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Flash is staying active underneath Nothing, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Nothing is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Flash is just riding it out for now. Nothing eventually gives up the hold.

Nothing is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Flash regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Flash working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nothing doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nothing manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Flash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nothing gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Nothing slips nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jumpin Jack Flash will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nothing shoots in for a takedown but Flash shows good takedown defense.

Flash feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Flash wants to pass the guard but Nothing is keeping the position.
Our spies down at at Gym Boiks inform us that Nothing has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Flash is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nothing can do to turn this around?
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nothing is on top in guard.

Nothing looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Flash is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nothing pulls his head out easily.

Nothing moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Flash.

Nothing is working to tighten his grip on Flash's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Flash has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Nothing is really squeezing tight and eventually Flash passes out! Nothing breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
