Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio De Souza (ranked 640 p4p, 82 weight class) and Max Chaos (ranked 887 p4p, 111 weight class). Chaos has chosen Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio De Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Chaos!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Souza gets tackled into the ropes by Chaos. Chaos maintains the clinch.

Chaos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! De Souza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chaos, into his guard.

De Souza wants to pass the guard but Chaos is keeping the position.
De Souza passes Chaos's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Chaos works his way to full guard. Good work.
De Souza passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Chaos is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked De Souza off and has taken his back!

Chaos is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. De Souza is defending well though. Chaos let's go of the attempt for now.

Chaos is looking for a choke. De Souza gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. De Souza manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Chaos looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
De Souza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chaos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chaos wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and De Souza is now in half guard.
De Souza seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chaos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Chaos tries to move into range but De Souza moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

De Souza goes for a double leg but Chaos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Chaos continues to drive forward.

Chaos has De Souza pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Chaos pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending De Souza tumbling to the mat - Chaos dives into De Souza's guard.

Chaos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but De Souza does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Chaos lands a nice short elbow.
De Souza is staying active underneath Chaos, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Chaos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control De Souza haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chaos throws a strike but De Souza rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Chaos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Souza doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Souza manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Chaos drops down looking to force a counter takedown but De Souza defends it well.

I would just about give that final round to Max Chaos.
I think Chaos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
