Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Gaston (ranked 1342 p4p, 188 weight class) and Bryan Schaub (ranked 357 p4p, 52 weight class). Gaston comes to the ring accompanied by You Can Do It. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Gaston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Bryan Schaub!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schaub throws a nice looking combination but Gaston bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Schaub looks to land a right hand but Gaston moved out of range.
Gaston half committed to a counter leg kick.

Schaub has closed the distance and engaged Gaston in a clinch.

Schaub has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Gaston regains guard immediately.

Schaub wants to stand but Gaston is controlling his posture from full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gaston escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schaub gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schaub is looking for a sweep. Gaston is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gaston wants to take a breather but Schaub is having none of it.
Gaston is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Schaub is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

I think Schaub has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
