The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Cleefe has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
King throws a leg kick which misses Van Cleefe's front leg but catches the back leg as Van Cleefe tries to avoid it.

As King backs off Van Cleefe throws a huge counter combo but King manages to avoid it all.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Van Cleefe's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
King throws a nice head kick!
King throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
King misses with a head kick.
King backing away here, and Van Cleefe unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Both fighters circling a little - King finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
A jab lands there for King.
King looks to land a body kick but Van Cleefe moved away.
Van Cleefe was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Van Cleefe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King throws out a loose jab but Van Cleefe uses good head movement to avoid it.
Despite the aggression on Van Cleefe's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
King misses with a jab to the body
and Van Cleefe counters with a right, left combo that wobbles King badly! Van Cleefe follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks King out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Van Cleefe finished him against the cage.
