Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wally Kruschev (ranked 4345 p4p, 437 weight class) and Takuya Sakamoto (ranked 5154 p4p, 481 weight class). Kruschev's entrance music is Every Me Every You. A fine choice. Takuya Sakamoto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takuya Sakamoto!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakamoto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kruschev sprawls well. Kruschev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sakamoto gets slowly back to his feet.

Kruschev stalks Sakamoto and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sakamoto's face. Sakamoto staggers backwards, shaken.

Kruschev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sakamoto crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kruschev - the referee stops the clock and Sakamoto gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kruschev. Sakamoto manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Sakamoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kruschev's waist but Kruschev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sakamoto off to one side.

Kruschev has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sakamoto is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kruschev enables Sakamoto to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kruschev manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sakamoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kruschev manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sakamoto has Kruschev in his guard.

Sakamoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kruschev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sakamoto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sakamoto showed some decent athleticism there.
