Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Will Rock (ranked 95 p4p, 13 weight class) and Gauthier St. Georges (ranked 149 p4p, 23 weight class). Rock comes to the cage accompanied by I Wanna Rock. St. Georges has chosen Jiu Jitsu as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Rock tries to pull guard but St. Georges forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, St. Georges throws an elbow but misses.
St. Georges's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

St. Georges wants to get up but he can't break Rock's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. St. Georges doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. St. Georges manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rock wants to sweep here but St. Georges controlling him for the moment.
St. Georges must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rock escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. St. Georges gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

St. Georges got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, St. Georges has managed to get both his arms back between Rock's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
St. Georges wants to get up but he can't break Rock's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rock had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. St. Georges defends it easily.
St. Georges is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

St. Georges really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
St. Georges's corner is telling him to maintain position.

St. Georges does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Well Rock has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
