The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gyos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gyos showed some decent athleticism there.

Padilla shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gyos sprawls well. Gyos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Padilla gets slowly back to his feet.
Gyos throws the kick towards the body but Padilla avoids it.

Gyos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Padilla to the ground. Gyos is now in Padilla's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Padilla is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gyos throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Padilla tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gyos is in Padilla's guard.

Gyos is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Padilla is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Padilla has escaped and now he's on top!

Gyos is pulling down on Padilla's head. It's preventing any offense from Padilla, at least for the moment.

Padilla throws a strike but Gyos rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Padilla manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Gyos has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Padilla after a bit of a struggle.
Padilla is trying to break free.

Gyos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gyos throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Padilla throws a jab but it's blocked by Gyos.
Dimitri Gyos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gyos goes for a double leg but Padilla avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Padilla continues to drive forward.
As Gyos tries to get set, Padilla tries to push him back and clinch up but Gyos manages to avoid the attempt.

Gyos circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gyos throws a counter combo.
Gyos blocks the body kick.
Padilla lands a head kick. Gyos smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Padilla tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gyos defends well and Padilla ends up having to push Gyos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Despite the aggression on Gyos's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Padilla pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Padilla looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gyos is fending him off so far but Padilla persists. Nope, Gyos circles away and we're back to standing.
Gyos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Padilla.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Padilla lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Gyos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Padilla to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Gyos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Padilla sprawls well initially but Gyos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gyos connects with a nice short shot to Padilla's temple.

Well Gyos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
