Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marquis Hyman!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Frost enables Hyman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Frost manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hyman looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Frost is trying to control the position but Hyman postures up.
Hyman is standing up over Frost. Frost looks to escape but Hyman dives into side control.
Hyman tries to move to mount but Frost blocks the move with his legs.

Hyman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frost. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hyman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hyman bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Frost is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hyman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hyman appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Frost tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hyman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hyman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Frost is trying to defend but Hyman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Frost pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Hyman can't break the clinch.
Hyman just leaning against Frost, taking a breather.
Hyman taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Hyman continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Hyman wants to break free but Frost has control.

Frost is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hyman to keep the fight standing.

Frost breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hyman, as that shot connected.

Hyman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Frost looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Frost is looking to get back to his feet here but Hyman is keeping cool and he's managed to take Frost's back.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

I really don't envy Frost right now.
Frost trying to control the action but Hyman just sinks the hooks in.

Hyman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hyman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hyman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hyman is breathing heavily.
Frost is looking for a sweep.
Frost can't do much from the bottom here.
Frost tries to bench press Hyman off him but Hyman keeps the position.

Frost manages to get back to half guard.

Marquis Hyman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Frost tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hyman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Frost somewhat.
Hyman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Frost with a body shot.

Hyman sizes up Frost with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Frost walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Well Hyman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
