Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reynaldo Spence (ranked 6647 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Gunn (ranked 6748 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Reynaldo Spence!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Spence clinches up against the cage.
Gunn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Spence gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Gunn is trying to drag Spence to the mat but Spence just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spence stays in close to Gunn's body and controls the position.

Gunn has his foot on Spence's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spence works his way back into a safe position though.

Spence drops back looking for a leg! Gunn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gunn manages to kick Spence off! Spence jumps back into Gunn's guard.

Spence ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Spence no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Spence manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gunn manages to get himself to full guard.

Spence is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gunn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Spence manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gunn keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Spence breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gunn dives in and grabs Spence's left leg, looking for a takedown. Spence pushes down on Gunn's head and hops out.

Spence ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Spence no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Reynaldo Spence overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gunn is pushing down on Spence's leg trying to pass to half guard. Spence is fighting to maintain full guard but Gunn has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gunn is working for a submission of some sort.
Gunn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Spence!

Gunn shoots in for a double leg but Spence sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Spence throws a lazy right hand but Gunn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nice takedown defense from Spence. No joy for Gunn on that attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Reynaldo Spence showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Spence has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
