Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Punchy (ranked 1432 p4p, 196 weight class) and Peter Woodcock (ranked 898 p4p, 127 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Punchy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Woodcock!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punchy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Woodcock counters with a stiff right hand.
Woodcock connects with a good right hand that stumbles Punchy. Punchy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Woodcock throws a sloppy head kick and Punchy moves out of range easily.
Punchy darts in looking for a takedown but Woodcock gets double underhooks and turns Punchy into the cage.
Woodcock looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Woodcock ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Punchy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Woodcock is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Punchy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Woodcock doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Punchy.

Punchy is trying to control. Woodcock wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Punchy throws a hook to the side of Woodcock's head but Woodcock sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Punchy cracks Woodcock with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Punchy connects with a crisp jab.
Punchy just misses with a punch to the body.
Woodcock tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Woodcock ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nice takedown defense from Woodcock. No joy for Punchy on that attempt.

A close round but Peter Woodcock will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Woodcock rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Punchy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Punchy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Punchy doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Woodcock fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Punchy throws a right and a left that Woodcock avoids nicely.
Peter Woodcock seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Woodcock buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Woodcock.

Woodcock throws a series of punches but Punchy avoids them all with ease.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Punchy is looking to counter punch.
Trent Punchy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Punchy goes for a double leg but Woodcock avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Woodcock continues to drive forward.
And Woodcock responds with a good body kick, but Punchy manages to step out the way in time.

Punchy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Woodcock defends well and Punchy ends up having to push Woodcock into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Punchy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Woodcock sprawls well. Woodcock wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Punchy gets slowly back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Woodcock has his foot on Punchy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Punchy works his way back into a safe position though.
Trent Punchy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Woodcock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Punchy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Punchy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Woodcock has his foot on Punchy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Punchy works his way back into a safe position though.

Peter Woodcock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Punchy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Punchy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Punchy drops his hands momentarily and Woodcock takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woodcock throws a leg kick which misses Punchy's front leg but catches the back leg as Punchy tries to avoid it.
Woodcock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Punchy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Woodcock throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Woodcock works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Woodcock is trying to stand up here but Punchy is controlling him well.
Punchy is looking to take a break and control but Woodcock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
