Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jacques St Croix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jangle Veruca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veruca has chosen Diamond in the Rough as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Croix misses with a head kick.
Veruca avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
St Croix misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Veruca.
Veruca tries to clinch but St Croix is having none of it.

Veruca drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Veruca postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Veruca takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Veruca shoots in and bounces St Croix off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Veruca stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. St Croix swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
St Croix is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Veruca bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
St Croix parries the strikes from Veruca easily there. Veruca is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable St Croix to escape.
St Croix prevents Veruca from moving into mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Veruca trying to control the position but St Croix is working away.
Veruca might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control St Croix kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Veruca thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
