Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philip Farmery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek Wylde!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farmery lands with a hook. Wylde tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wylde looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wylde fails to land with a series of punches.
Wylde stuffs the takedown attempt from Farmery. Farmery gets slowly back to his feet.
Wylde avoids a punch combination nicely.

Wylde lands a left and a right that send Farmery crashing to the mat, dazed. Wylde thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Farmery is rocked!


It looks like Philip Farmery has been cut.
We've been told by Farmery's head coaches at De Santos BJJ & MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wylde misses with a head kick.

Oh Farmery is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Farmery breaks from the clinch.
Farmery seems to have got his legs back now.

Farmery shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wylde napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Farmery goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wylde has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Farmery but great work by Wylde.

Farmery shoots for a takedown but Wylde saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Farmery connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Wylde has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Farmery connects with a nice looking jab.

Farmery drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wylde is controlling Farmery's posture.
Wylde wants to stand up but Farmery is controlling him.

Wylde wants to stand up but Farmery is controlling him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Wylde moves forwards but Farmery connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Farmery tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wylde swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Philip Farmery. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wylde throws a right and a left that both miss.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Farmery lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Wylde takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wylde on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Farmery throws a right hand that Wylde ducks under and follows up with a left that Wylde also avoids with ease.
Wylde ducks right into an uppercut from Farmery.
Farmery throws a head kick that misses.
Derek Wylde is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wylde pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Farmery escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Farmery shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wylde as he avoids it easily.
A nice combination there by Farmery.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wylde paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Wylde closes the distance and clinches.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Wylde.
Wylde lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Wylde misses with the head strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Farmery breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Farmery throws a right and a left that Wylde avoids nicely.
Farmery misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Farmery jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Farmery lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Farmery.

Farmery swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Philip Farmery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wylde takes one on the button.


Wylde is rocked!

Wylde clinches up with Farmery and pushes him back against the cage.
Wylde is still on wobbly legs! Can Farmery finish him?
Farmery blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Wylde seems to have recovered his senses.

Farmery breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Farmery lands with an overhand left.
Wylde lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Wylde takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Farmery is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Wylde tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wylde shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Philip Farmery will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Philip Farmery's cut.
That's time! Farmery's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Wylde throws a right and a left that Farmery avoids nicely.

Farmery feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wylde has his feet on Farmery's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Farmery throws an overhand right that drops Wylde like a sack of potatoes! Farmery dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philip Farmery!
