Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Drake (ranked 5856 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Raktor (ranked 4827 p4p, 0 weight class). Vladimir Raktor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vladimir Raktor!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raktor shoots in for a takedown but Drake shows good takedown defense.
Drake lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Raktor clinches.

Raktor manages to pull guard.
Raktor pulls Drake in to control the position.
Raktor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Raktor is looking for a triangle here but Drake uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Raktor is trying to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Check out the look on Drake's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Raktor is on top in guard.

Drake manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Raktor manages to get himself to full guard.

Raktor is pushing down on Drake's leg trying to pass to half guard. Drake is fighting to maintain full guard but Raktor has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Raktor seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Drake is refusing to be controlled, as Raktor sits in half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Raktor lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Raktor throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Raktor is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Drake could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Raktor throws a right and a left that Drake avoids nicely.

Raktor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Raktor shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Drake is trying to defend but Raktor finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Raktor in particular looking to stall.

Raktor wants to control but Drake is keeping him busy.
Drake is looking to improve his position.
Raktor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Drake keeps working.
Raktor seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Raktor is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Drake has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vladimir Raktor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Drake has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Raktor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Drake is on top in guard.

Raktor shoots in and drives through. Drake sprawls well.
Drake feinted with a counter takedown.
Jon Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Raktor.

Drake stuffs the takedown attempt from Raktor. Raktor gets slowly back to his feet.
Raktor slaps away a takedown attempt from Drake, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Drake.
Raktor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drake paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Drake connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jon Drake has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vladimir Raktor is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

and Drake counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Drake showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Raktor has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
