The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simmons drives through and clinches with Walsh against the cage.
Simmons tries to land knees in the clinch but Walsh avoids the damage to the body.

Walsh pulls Simmons into guard.

Simmons controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Simmons decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Simmons darts in and clinches Walsh up against the cage.
Simmons makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

It looks like Barton Walsh has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simmons scores with a hook to the body.

Walsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Simmons fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walsh, pushing him back against the cage.
Simmons tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Walsh avoids it.
A bit of stalling here from Walsh.

A frustrated look appears on Walsh's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Walsh tries to pull guard but Simmons holds him up against the cage and eventually Walsh drops back down to his feet.
A right hook to the body lands for Simmons.
Walsh is trying to break free.
Walsh can't break the clinch.
Simmons is stalling here.
Walsh's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A frustrated look appears on Walsh's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Simmons has Walsh pressed against the cage, preventing Walsh from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Simmons throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Walshs head.
Walsh is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A short body shot lands from Simmons as the two fighters clinch.
Walsh is breathing heavily.
Simmons leaning against his opponent.

Simmons lands an elbow inside.
Walsh is trying to break the clinch but Simmons is controlling him.
Walsh is working for takedown but Simmons is calmly controlling the position for now.

Simmons digs a right hand underneath Walsh's ribcage. Walsh let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Simmons content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Simmons stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Simmons lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Simmons creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Walsh with a big uppercut! Walsh tries to clinch up but Simmons pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Walsh to the mat! Walsh covers up and Simmons unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
