Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sasha Beliy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Paddington!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beliy throws out a loose jab but Paddington uses good head movement to avoid it.

Paddington lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Beliy takes a jab right on the kisser.
Paddington takes a swing at Beliy's ribcage but misses.
Beliy gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Paddington.
Paddington takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Some bone on bone action there as Paddington checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Paddington tries to close the distance and clinch but Beliy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Paddington loads up on a big right hand but Beliy slips the punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A little jabbing left from Paddington on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Beliy motions for Paddington to come forward. Beliy throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Beliy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Beliy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Paddington fails to land the takedown.
Sasha Beliy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Paddington fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Paddington tries to bum rush Beliy with a series of wild strikes but Beliy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Beliy looks to score with a jab to the body but Paddington is just out of range.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Paddington creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Beliy misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Paddington throws a head punch that misses.
Paddington misses with a hook to the ribs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Paddington tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sasha Beliy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Paddington.
Paddington tries to pull guard but Beliy holds him up against the cage and eventually Paddington drops back down to his feet.

Beliy manages to break the clinch.
Paddington throws out a powerful jab.
Beliy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Paddington counters with a nice double leg into side control. Beliy won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paddington is trying to ground and pound but Beliy uses the momentary lack of control by Paddington to regain half guard.
Paddington has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
