Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike McMonster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Synister Thrasher!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMonster fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McMonster is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thrasher.
Danga de danga de dang - McMonster scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Synister Thrasher has been cut.

Thrasher has McMonster up against the cage in a clinch.

Thrasher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thrasher swinging wildly here.

Thrasher looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Thrasher controlling from the top position.
McMonster tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thrasher scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Thrasher tries to free his leg and advance position but McMonster is retaining full guard.
Thrasher connects with a couple of short punches.
McMonster looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
McMonster controls Thrasher momentarily but Thrasher frees himself.
McMonster is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McMonster is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Thrasher wants to improve his position but McMonster is controlling well.
Thrasher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McMonster seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thrasher does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thrasher can do anything to dispel that myth.
McMonster lands with a punch from half guard.
McMonster takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nice strikes from McMonster there.


Thrasher is rocked!
McMonster has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McMonster lands a big elbow - Thrasher is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for McMonster!
