Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Badr Al Din (ranked 374 p4p, 52 weight class) and Michael Cole (ranked 159 p4p, 23 weight class). Al Din comes to the cage accompanied by RUNNING BACK. Cole is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Won't Back Down. Badr Al Din has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Badr Al Din!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Cole!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Din pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Al Din misses with an uppercut.
Al Din throws a body punch but Cole moves out of range.
Cole looks to land a combination but Al Din avoids it well.
Al Din rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cole moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Al Din takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Al Din throws a leg kick but Cole checks it.
Al Din keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like Michael Cole has been cut.
Al Din throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Cole drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Al Din defends it well.
Cole catches Al Din with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Badr Al Din has been cut.
Cole lunges at Al Din with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Al Din's hand.
Al Din seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Cole's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Al Din connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cole scrambles back to his feet.
Al Din tries to work over Cole's front leg with a kick but Cole checks it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Al Din throws a looping overhand right but Cole ducks down to avoid it.

Cole drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Cole creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cole scoring with punches and elbows.
Al Din tries to buck Cole off but Cole is having none of it.
Cole landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Al Din sneaks back into half guard.
Al Din controlling the position well.
Al Din taking some punishment here, with Cole in his half guard.
Cole working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cole winds up and cracks Al Din with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cole throwing shots but Al Din is blocking nicely.
Al Din moves into full guard.
Cole trying to control but Al Din is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cole's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Al Din is trying to keep Cole in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Cole landing with the ground and pound.
Cole scoring with some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cole's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Cole wants to control from the top but Al Din keeps moving.
Cole postures up and lands a big shot to Al Din's brow.
Al Din looking to control.
Cole slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Al Din working a defensive guard here.
Cole cracks Al Din with a solid left hand.
Al Din will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Al Din is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cole defends well.
Cole makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Al Din not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cole trying to control but Al Din is working from the bottom.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Al Din throws a jab when Cole was well out of range.
Al Din is looking to slow Cole down with leg kicks.
Al Din swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Al Din thows a left - swing and a miss!
Cole blocks a low kick nicely.
Cole avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Al Din looks to land a combination. Cole sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Cole has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Al Din throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cole lands with a right hand.
Al Din throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cole.

Cole moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Michael Cole will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Al Din throws the kick towards the body but Cole avoids it.

and Cole counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cole.

Al Din is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cole is aware though and is defending well.
Cole keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Al Din's head.

Cole with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cole working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Al Din's head.
Cole trying to control but Al Din is working from the bottom.
Cole has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Al Din looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Cole is defending well. Al Din quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Cole has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Al Din celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Badr Al Din!
Badr Al Din decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
