Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ali Bagov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Shlemenko!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shlemenko moves in looking to clinch but Bagov pushes him off.
Bagov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bagov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bagov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Bagov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shlemenko tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bagov is in Shlemenko's guard.

Bagov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shlemenko is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bagov, into his guard.

Shlemenko with a flurry of punches that miss.

Bagov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Shlemenko with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shlemenko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Shlemenko throwing strikes from guard but Bagov blocks nicely.

Bagov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Shlemenko wants to control from the top but Bagov keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shlemenko with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Shlemenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bagov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shlemenko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shlemenko connects with a couple of short punches.

Shlemenko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Bagov looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Shlemenko postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Bagov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shlemenko is aware though and is defending well.
Shlemenko trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bagov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Bagov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shlemenko defends well.
Shlemenko is in close to Bagov's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Bagov has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Shlemenko doesn't defend quickly enough and Bagov has managed to lock this one up! Can Shlemenko escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bagov on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ali Bagov!
A very excited looking Ali Bagov rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
The defeated Alexander Shlemenko had this to say: 'Oh sh#t!!!'.
