Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Mailic (ranked 147 p4p, 20 weight class) and Alexandru Mircea (ranked 313 p4p, 48 weight class). Mircea is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Holy Wars...The Punishment Due. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mailic moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mailic misses the body punch
and Mircea makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Mailic thows a left - swing and a miss!

Mircea feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mailic's calf.
Mailic misses with a two punch combination.

and Mircea counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Mircea counters with a nice uppercut.
Mailic throws a leg kick but Mircea moved away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mircea! But no joy.
Mailic closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Mircea is leaning against Mailic and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Mircea lands a shot to the body.
Mailic goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mircea lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mailic backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mailic is breathing heavily.
Mircea tries to work over Mailic's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mircea dodges an elbow strike from Mailic.
Mircea lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Still in the clinch, Mircea scores with a nice short uppercut.
Mailic misses with a punch to the body.
Mircea's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've been informed that Mircea has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Mircea throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Mailic looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mircea cracks Mailic with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Mailic looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Mircea finish him?
It looks like Stan Mailic has been cut.
Mircea lands a brutal uppercut that launches Mailic off his feet! Mailic tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alexandru Mircea!
